Heart of Gold Valentine

February 1, 2020

We almost always make some sort of rice krispy treats for most of our celebrations. This one was to mimic cake pops. Tru helped roll the shapes into circles and quickly stick a mini straw in before it hardened. The plastic straws all didn’t stick too well- paper straws or wooden sticks would have been better.

Candy colored pencils Valentine

January 31, 2020

Instead of a traditional card, Tru wrote each of his classmates name on the colored pencils. He loved using the white sharpie paint pens and it ended up looking super cute!

Heartrocker Watercolor Valentine

January 29, 2020

This was one of my favorite Valentine’s we did together. I had little tru make 1 design with black marker. I sized it so 4 can fit onto 1 letter size sheet. I scanned and set up a sheet to make prints from my laser printer. Before trimming I had him do shades of pink watercolor swashes. Each sheet was different and messier the better! This worked great because the little ones feel like they had a big part of the making. Also, since it’s black and white you can have your child write their friends name in black and it looks like each was hand made!

Taco-about a cute idea!

February 5, 2019

I saw these on oriental trading and couldn't resist. Small but holds just enough little treats and I like that it can be re-used! There’s not much to explain - I just used a black sharpie to write the names and yellow construction paper for the little taco card insert. Looking back I think it would’ve been cuter to use green like lettuce.
