This past weekend we threw a last birthday and farewell party for Olive and Charlie. Since it was so close to Halloween, Bee thought it’d be fun to do a Little Red Riding Hood theme and it worked out perfectly because the kids were so into the costume!

We almost always make some sort of rice krispy treats for most of our celebrations. This one was to mimic cake pops. Tru helped roll the shapes into circles and quickly stick a mini straw in before it hardened. The plastic straws all didn’t stick too well- paper straws or wooden sticks would have been better.
Instead of a traditional card, Tru wrote each of his classmates name on the colored pencils. He loved using the white sharpie paint pens and it ended up looking super cute!
One year candy was banned for Valentines! So we got creative and wrapped up our treats to look like candy. We happened to be in Chinatown few weeks before for Lunar New Year celebrations so we grabbed a box of these snappers. The color went perfectly with the packaging so I was happy.
This was one of my favorite Valentine’s we did together. I had little tru make 1 design with black marker. I sized it so 4 can fit onto 1 letter size sheet. I scanned and set up a sheet to make prints from my laser printer. Before trimming I had him do shades of pink watercolor swashes. Each sheet was different and messier the better! This worked great because the little ones feel like they had a big part of the making. Also, since it’s black and white you can have your child write their friends name in black and it looks like each was hand made!
Paperlesspost asked me to share about some tips about kids parities and one of my favorite ones came to mind. Last year we weren’t able to do a proper birthday party with a cake and decor. So we decided on a big play date at the park with a fun Oreo challenge.
Sharing today how to make paper flowers in small mini sizes but how they can easily translate into giant ones.

I used to make these cards for my friends back in my college days. Nowadays, my little crafter and I have fun making them. Hope you will too!
It’s always hard to figure out how to make it fun gifting money or a gift card. This DIY video was inspired by what we made for Father’s day. We got big Tru an annual membership for citibike and didn’t know how best to present it so came up with this idea!
